So I am setting up my 55 gallon again after my eel's death, took out the rock, threw out the sand and plenum (had to think there were some nasty gasses in there ;-p then put the rock back in with new sand and cycled it. As you can see from the picture im getting diatoms, and am looking to john at reefcleaners for a CuC.
I was thinking f putting in a divider with larger screening to make a refugium on the left side, with some cheato for pods and what not. Maybe a cheap tine pipefish or seahorse since it will be somewhat sheltered as far as current and pod population goes.
My question is this; is this idea retarded? I mean, am i goning to run into a big dead zone as far as current goes for no good reason? In your guys opinion will pods breed fast enough just on that side to populate the rest of the tank effectively? I hate syphons and stuff so i dont really want to do a below tank sump with return.
