    Another noob question...

I see that corals have different temperaments and some get a long and some don't...

    And then there are 'frags'??

How can you know which ones will be ok in a tank and which ones will not...

    Thanks for clarifying!

Fragments or frags are just small pieces of a larger coral. Same temperaments as it's "parent" coral just in a smaller size.

most of the coral are fine just don't put them right next to each other, if theres more then a 5 inches of space your probably safe 99.9% of the time, if not more.

its only when you pack your tank that you have to worry and research the types, not to dissuade you from researching ahead of time.

find a hole in the rock, and stick it in it(works best if the frag is on a plug.) also choose you holes carefully ive picked some too deep before and had the coral fall in the rock.

also if you can make it work, just set the coral on the sand, and order some glue or epoxy, then just glue it to a rock, usually small rocks are a good idea if you have to more corals.

protip: some corals like mushrooms will attach them selves if there not attached to any thing, just stick them in a low flow spot and give it a day or so
