I am currently using a Aqueon 30 on my 20G Long, What would be best to use inside the HOB Filter as it has the normal Filter w/ carbon inside? I also have more carbon inside the HOB Filter. The main question is what would be my BEST Method to keep the tank crystal clear and the water quality in great shape. Any suggestions?

plenty of live rock and a good skimmer. a CuC that is the right size of your tank. no overfeeding or overstocking.

you can put carbon in those filters... that is a fine place to keep it.

The carbon that comes in those filters is OK. You don't need both. Those filters are minimally beneficial and mostly unnecessary. Particularly if you have the rest of the mentioned items above.

I keep one just to run carbon in... but the filter aspect is kind of pointless.

    yip

that's on the low side. I have almost 200 snails of 6 different species in my 55 gallon to give you a point of reference. You need the CuC to balance out the inevitable algae, poop, etc.

Go here, fill out the form, see what they recommend. I highly suggest following John's advise

    Thanks! ;D

How's that autodoser working for you Mc?
