Hey guys. I thought Id do a bit of an update with this tank. This tank suffered the same fate as my frag system when I was in Florida. It is bouncing back and Im starting to see some colors again. Ill let the pictures do the talking.

This green birdsnest has been growing well for me.

New chalice that I picked up. Its about 5 inches long so I plan on fragging it up in the future.

    Same chalice.

    New as well.

And an FTS of course. The corals in here are somewhat thrown all over the place. Im not totally sure what I will continue to stock this tank with. Many of the corals will be going in the frag system when there is room. If possible Id love to keep mostly sps with a few lps. But Im undecided still. Thanks for reading!

Very nice looking tank norg. New corals look great, love the zoa colors and acan eating snail is badazz. I haven't had much luck with SPS in my 30g biocube, started off with RTN and now only a tiny frag tip is alive... doing well now and growing actually, but so puny to look at.

what size cuc do you have in there? I added a 10g fuge a few months ago and threw my entire cuc into the fuge so now there is some algae spots in my DT coming up from what i think is a dead snail that made my level spike last week.. going tomorrow to a few LFS and local fragger for new critters just maybe wanted to get a 2nd oppinion

The tank is looking great, Nick. Birdsnests just do not grow well for me in my 29g. I don't know why. They always get tissue necrosis...I really like them though.

I love the acan and zoa colonies you have there. Do you feed anything special?

Thanks Mattias! Its a work in progress. I almost bought a 180 gallon the other day, but I really shouldnt so Ill stick with this set up until I move I think.

Thanks Mike! Its doubled in size for me since I added it to this tank around 2 months ago.

RTN is a scary battle to fight. Glad to hear you came out on top of it though. For my CUC I really just took a handfull of snails from my frag system. Im not sure as to the numbers in there. Maybe 8-9 nassarius, 20 dwarf ceriths, and a couple nerite snails. Ill be adding more in the future but I like a pretty heavy CUC. I also have a fire shrimp and serpent star that keep the substrate pretty clean. I have a rainsford goby that munches on algae all day as well. Thanks for the compliment!

Thanks Sean! In my experience, they really did not like LEDs that didnt have UV supplementation. I have a colony of green birdsnest that is still completely white from when it was under my boost MU135 fixture. I know that this type of birdsnest was grown out for years under t5s so it loves my lighting. As far as feeding goes, I like to soak my food in zoe or zoecon before feeding, but I feed mysis, bloodworms, krill, silversides occasionally and sometimes flakes if Im feeling lazy.

Thanks! Hopefully It will start to come together. I have a bunch of corals in there but they definitely need to be rearranged. Haha.

Alright, time for a bit of an update. Its really more of a tease than anything because I dont have the best pictures to back it up. I have added some more corals since the last time I updated. I got a nice frogspawn frag from Chris (Biocube), threw in a piece of ORA Brett's purple rim monti, ORA Red Planet, purple tipped stag, blue stag.... I know there is more still... Either way Ill post more pictures later. I also added a small mckoskers flasher wrasse that was a bit of an impulse buy but it is doing well in the tank.

He is pretty tiny, but he already ate and has been exploring the tank with the rest of the gang.

I also added a very small yellow tailed damsel. I lost my lemon damsel last week due to an equipment malfunction that almost wiped out my whole frag system. I miss him so I had to get another damsel.

Here is a poorly taken FTS. I will update with more pictures later. The tank is starting to look better, meaning less algae and better coral colors. I recently switched to a spectrapure RO-DI unit and have done 2 small water changes since then, but more are to be done soon. Thanks for looking!

Thanks! I need to get a mesh cover for this tank now because of the wrasse. They are known to be jumpers. I have a makeshift cover Ill use for a while though. I took it off for the FTS because it looks like garbage. lol
