Thanks! We have done alot of reefing together. It only seemed right that we do this build as a team.

We will call it great when its done. ;D

Thanks! Space is a big concern in my basement right now. That and electrical. I need to have alot of electrical work done so I can continue to expand.

Ah, coral tycoon.... That would be a dream for me. Something to work towards. I know Joss would agree too!

Id like to think so! Soon Ill be looking into being an official business! Very exciting.

This coral is a Cyphastrea Sp. It is actually a hybrid between two varients. Im drawing up blank on the specific name but it looks so much better in person. They arent rare corals, but I have had difficulty finding a good source for them. I plan on stocking a couple more frags of them for grow out.

Not quite. It looks like it in the picture, but in person its a brighter green and the polyps are slightly more purple. Pretty similar though.

Thanks! If you cant tell, Joss and I have a frag addicition. Haha.

Sorry I haven't exactly been posting on the thread much. I was real busy with school and the technical aspects of the project. Norg's kinda the brains on the coral chemistry, and I'll be the brains of making the coral available to a 'global' market. (One heck of a task)

I'm currently working on what will be the website for this adventure. However we hope to stand out from the crowd as far as a 'distributer' goes. As it might be obvious now, we are doing this not for the money, but for the love of the Hobby and we want the website to reflex this.

The most difficult problem with creating a website for such a project is 'foreseeing the unforeseeable'. We could create a simple site to purchase coral, but thats no fun. We have been planning on paper an Inventory Management System that would allow us to track our inventory while also providing crucial data such as Nutrition Intake and special needs of our corals so we can use a centralized 'dashboard' that will calculate optimal dosing levels and tracking current levels to ensure the stability the coral will need.

We hope to not just 'move coral' but provide statistical insight on coral such as growth potential in different environmental variables. Such as Halides vs. LED etc. If we implement this properly, we intend to not only keep coral in the ocean by propagating instead of taking from the ocean but provide the knowledge for hobbyists to optimize the sustainability of their pets.

Which is most of our goals. :)

This tank and lighting for it has been purchased! This is going to be a decent sized system. For the record that is me standing directly in front of the tank and that is the legendary Paul of Paul's Corals to the right of me.

This sounds awesome, but also very complicated. It may be easier to make a separate part of the site to divulge information about the coral requirements under different conditions. Also, I would suggest to keep your sight interesting but simple enough to navigate at the same time. I kind of like how simple reefcleaners.org is set up, but I think you are wanting something "flasher" then this.

Either way, it sounds like you guys are in for the ride of your life.
