Alright, well, like I said there have been lots of small updates. I have been very busy with work up until two or three days ago when all the work we had apparently fell off the face of the earth. (I work for a construction company, that tends to happen from time to time.) This has been a great opportunity to work on the tanks though. I did a total of 100 gallons of water changes in the last 2 days. The corals are very happy since then. Colors are coming back since my autodoser decided to dump excess alkalinity buffer into my system. I have been running without a protein skimmer on for close to a month. Not by choice though, both pumps shorted out on me.... That would be 3 of the Atman pumps that power the Eshopps psk300 that I have blown up now. I switched to a reef octopus skimmer since then.

    Nice orange monti cap.

Cool monti frag growing out for me.

Blue stag with green base. Growing well for me now.

    More montipora.

I really like montipora if you cant tell.

This is one of my favorite acros in my system currently. Although it is hard to tell the base is turning purple and the polyp extension is pretty crazy. A specific ID would be appreciated if anyone has any idea.

Overall things are well in the world of this reefer. Everyday Im learning and expanding on what I want to do with my system. Thanks for reading guys. I really appreciate the support.

Also, I apologize for the blurry photos. My lenses and glass need cleaning. :/

    Beautiful stuff Norg.

Is that system running low nutrient? You have some fantastic blue and reddish hues.

Thank you Cheryl. It was pretty much the entire time I was running with no skimmer. I was hardly feeding. (The 3 resident fish in this system didnt like me very much then.) But since I have been running the new skimmer I have been feeding much much more. I am a firm believer in feeding phyto and zooplankton multiple times a week. I pretty much feed as much as I can without having traceable phosphates and nitrates. I do dose small amounts of vodka and skim relatively wet however. This method has produced the best coloration for me and color sells coral.

Also I shot these pictures fairly underexposed so they are a bit deeper and darker, but all these colors are there. They were shot under Phoenix 14k and Radium 20k bulbs. All are 250watt bulbs.

Thanks ford101! Im so glad to be running with a skimmer again. There has been lots of work going on in my "laboratory" hopefully I can expand this system soon and add around another 200 gallons to it. :)

    Thanks for the update, Nick.

Nice looking FTS. You have some colonies that have grown quite large by now. I love that orange monti cap. I wish my growth patterns looked like that one.

I could smell the skimmate from that new skimmer. lol

Is that the blue staghorn you were telling me about? I really like it.

Those are great colors, almost looks zeovite with the pastels. Personally I love the coloration.

Thanks Sean! Its time to start fragging some things again. That orange monti is one of my favorites. Im lucky to have multiple frags of the same coloration. When I emptied the skimmer earlier I had to try my hardest not to gag. It was rough. Atleast all that jazz and DOCs arent in the water column anymore. lol
