    The tides are changing.

I just spent the last hour or so paging through the entire build thread. I honestly cannot believe how much I moved forward with this build since the "laboratory" was birthed. My partner and I initially planned for a 40 gallon system to be set in place, since then Ive grown more than a couple hundred gallons (well over a couple hundred gallons), lost my partner, my girlfriend, my social life, my mind at points in time because of this build. There is light at the end of the tunnel. This month I will be paying off my good friend Paul, the incredible person that got me as involved in this hobby and lifestyle as I currently am. Almost everyone reading this is a hobbyist, but you cannot begin to imagine the amount of money I am into this. Many thousands of dollars. Besides that, my student loans from attending a year of schooling for marine biology at The University of Wisconsin Whitewater are almost paid off. A massive weight is being lifted off my shoulders and paging back through this thread has truly made me realize how I have moved forward, despite the feelings of hopelessness and doubt that plagued me throughout most of this build. I'd like to thank Paul and Karen Law for being so understanding and easy to work with. I wouldnt have been able to chase my passion without them. Id also like to thank my parents. Without their confidence in me and giving nature none of this would have been close to possible. I love you Mom and Dad. With this being said, Ive faced the hardest of what I will have to face already. I wake up every morning loving what I do with the hope of growing more corals and making hobbyists like myself happy. Ill be damned if anything will stop me now. Thanks for reading. Keep following for more things to come. Go big or go home.

    Cheers.

Hey, maybe you should open your own Lfs. I'd shop there, with frags like that.

Thanks for the support guys. That goes to everyone reading this thread. Even just glancing at it has hopefully been beneficial to some people. Soon Ill go more into detail about my RO-DI unit, more stock additions, expanding my current system, and what the "laboratory" will look like when its done.

Wow Norg. Good on ye mate! Finding a passion is a hard road for those who dare to take it (and many choose not too). Good luck the rest of the way my man, and I'm just looking forward to the day I order corals online from "Norg's".

Thanks everyone. More was done today and I am feeling good about progress. Chris (Biocube) came up today to hang out and work on the build. Thanks again buddy. I really appreciate the help. Im ordering all the plumbing stuff I need to finalize adding the 120 gallon frag tank. The lighting and light movers are done for that tank now. Chris took pictures of the process today. Reefkeeper Jr is programmed to run the heaters I was having troubles with. But there was a pretty major set back today, Chris is a like a lab technician when it comes to using Hanna checker products and he showed me where I was going wrong for testing phosphates. This was great, but the following tests yielded disappointing results at best. My tanks are higher in PO4 levels, between .08 and .012, which is fixable. However, the containers I brew my salt water in are apparently leeching phosphates into the freshly brewed salt water. This would explain why I cannot drop my phosphate levels. The "fresh" saltwater Im using for water changes actually has 4 times the phosphate my tanks already have present in the water column.... Im not sure what good cleaning them will do considering I already bleached them and washed with vinegar 5 times. After that I rinsed with freshwater atleast 10 times. The mixing containers are as clean as they are going to get. The plastics must be leeching PO4. It is the only thing I can think of. I am contemplating running GFO to bring all my "fresh" saltwater down to 0 phosphates before I do any more water changes. Does this make any sense? Either way the problem has been pinpointed and it can and will be resolved.
