All three. First local, then swaps, a website has been/was in the works. I plan on being very active in the Wisconsin Reef Society as well as here and a handfull of other forums for networking to start. Ill be sponsoring 3reef of course when the time is right. But first things first, finishing the system and sorting out the problems I have encountered are priority. Im very motivated to bring in new corals and continue growing. Im working hard to have my name known in the next 2-3 years for quality corals. But like I said its one day at a time. First Im tackling this phosphate issue!

Now that I put the finishing touches on my RO-DI unit I figured that it was about time to post some pictures!

The unit consists of 2 prefilter stages, 5 micron and 1 micron. This is overkill for most systems but my house is fed by well water that has very high iron levels. We have a water softener and iron filter but when they get clogged up the sinks in our house show some rust. Obviously the iron is there. It doesnt hurt to be safe. Followed by this is the carbon block, after the carbon block the water is boosted up from 45PSI to 105PSI to feed my RO membrane. I am using an Aquatec 8800 for my booster pump and have had great results so far.

After my RO membrane I have double DI chambers. Today I just added a dual inline TDS meter to measure the TDS from after my RO membrane and after the second DI stage.

Today I also got my reactor to run GFO on my freshly brewed salt water to ensure that there are no more phosphates being put into this system. I am looking forward to doing water changes with clean water!

Wow a very nice crazy thread I'm Deff subing.

Sucks you lost your partner over this but hey at least you are doing what you are passionate about.

I'm in the process of setting up a 55g Frag tank. Was suppose to be finish around this time last year but funds weren't there so I had to put it on hold.

Also I remember somewhere in your thread your overflow set up doesn't have a box? You just added the pvc elbows to the bulkhead without a overflow box am I correct or wrong?

My partner and I kinda drifted in different directions. It happens, but Ill make it work. Maybe I can find someone else in the future. Im content with working on it myself right now though. A frag system really isnt a project to jump into unless the funds are there. Haha. This system is taking most of my income right now, but when the build is finished I might actually have some cash in my wallet. Until I start stocking corals atleast.

That is correct with the overflow. Its simply an elbow with a strainer to prevent any fish or debris getting stuck in the plumbing. Its very simple and with holes drilled in the back to let the air escape it is also very quiet.

Im a little under 2 hours away from Chicago. If you drive like you are from Illinois you can get here in 1.5 hours. lol

You guys still talk? Well things got in the way when I was in the works with it. I'm really interested in your overflow set up. Have you had any problems? My drill bit is on its way as we speak should be here soon as well as my bulkheads. I will be putting up a thread soon hopefully tomorrow. I'm more active at another forum not sure if safe to post name but I will be pming you about the overflow set up to avoid jacking up this thread.

Also I'm planning in going to Chicago to visit fam I stay in Atlanta. I'm from ny tho lol but I will probably make it in 1.5 hours anyways very tempting in going up to visit you if I do go to Chicago
