an anemone splitting is usually NOT a good thing. When stressed they split to ensure survival of at least part of it.

How long have you had it? What is your water like?

I'm not sure that's entirely true. Don't quote me on this, but I believe Coralline had a thread about her RBTA's splitting. She said something along the lines of if you feed it regularly it'll split, it's a natural thing.

no, an anemone splitting isnt ALWAYS a bad thing. They will split when they are happy and well fed. However when you recently add an anemone, or have one constantly splitting, then it can be a stress thing. I am not sure how long the OP had it, but i had the feeling it was a recent addition. That is why i thought it might be stress related. But no, not every anemone splits due to stress.

I actually know hobbyist that will cause their anemone to split by stressing them out. They are very knowlegeable and have it down to a routine. They have a special tank just for the anemone to stress in without anything else.

I didnt mean to come off negative;D but whenever i hear of an anemone splitting that is the first thing that pops into my mind

I've seen a few of my RBTAs's do this from time to time and I'm sure it is purposely done, just don't know why. I've had splits, but didn't seem related to the twisting.
    All are healthy and happy!
