Went to visit the fish tonight- mushroom was shrunken up, not frilled out, and spewing a stream of reddish brown excrement. Went upstairs to grab the camera, came back down and it looks like this

Yeah, I've had water issues, killing corals... I'm staying away from the LFS in case I kill again. I'm sticking with small, 10-14 day water changes, no additives, no overfeeding, no fussing with the tank. My parameters are better, but the only things flourishing in the tank are the fish, a toadstool, and my zooanthids. I've almost given up on my frogspawn, and the colt came back from the dead just last week. I'm doing alot of reading, though!:inquisiti

Thats the best thing that you can do, stop dosing EVERYTHING, and just stick with WC for now until you start to see an improvement. Something similar(sp) happened to me a couple of yrs ago with Kalkwasser. My zoas, toadstool and LTA werent looking to hot. I stopped dosing Kalk and "almost" over night everything started to regain its color and tenticles. Luna

It's so hard to be patient, but like gardens and grandchildren, you have to sit back sometimes and let them go on their own! I've done my parameters weekly since this has started, and things are definitely better, but I'm finding corals to be a challenge. I will continue to wait until I can get a month or so of consistency, and then maybe try something a little hardier- those toadstools sure are tough!
