Was feeding my Clown Trigger.....and CHOMP! He took a nice chunk outta my finger and left a hole with his beak. Now this little beast is only about 4-5"....so if you have a big trigger DONT GET BIT, a 9-12" one could take the tip off no doubt about it. Im using the centipede tongs from now on (should of already)! Heres some nice shots of the post-attack damage.... ;D sorry if you have an aversion to blood.

In case none of you personally know any professional divers (doesn't everyone? :p) it's interesting to know that most are completely feerless around sharks, but boy to they hate triggers! I've seen serious scars from divers that have had chunk taken out of them by triggers. Watch your self when working in the tank!

I've seen them at pet stores take big chunks out of careless workers.

There was a very large Trigger at the Aquarium of the Pacific with very large teeth.  One diver with a net guarded the other diver cleaning the exhibit.  Tells you something about their ferocity.

Damsels have also been known to "attack" divers.

Yup, thats how we clean the lion, big trigger, and any other big fish with a beak like mouth @ work...with a watcher. Now that it has stopped bleeding it doesnt look bad. At least i now have a small idea of what the Queen trigger we have at work right now could do....will be far more cautous.

I remember when it happened to me, it hurt like a s.o.b.
It seemed like it bled forever. I was fortunate enough to have a med-student living next door to me at the time and he put in a couple stitches and cleaned it out real good. I don't remember what hurt worse, the trigger bite or the burn from the salt water getting into the wound.

Their cool fish, but they can and will take a bite out of any and everything in the tank.

Well, that's a lesson well learned. NEVER, EVER, run out of beer :)

Remember the lesson of the Sensei

" If you have beer you can make the ghosts and devils turn your grind stone."

It's alright to be bitten by a fish, but to run out of beer, well let's just say some things are better left unsaid. ;D
