Oh, I've been "attacked" by damsels several times while diving. Luckily, they won't draw blood! It's really funny to have one swim right up to your mask and nip at you threateningly! I mean really ... I'm about 200lbs and those damsels are maybe 4" long. ::)

Never mess with a large trigger in the wild, you could loose a digit or an eyebrow ;) My boss told me a story of a collector being attacked by a large trigger tacking his eyebrow clean off. Forgot how many stitches it required, but geesh.

I've been pluggeg by them as well, but never like what a Panamic Fang blenny did to me. Suckers have razor blades as teeth, my cut bled for like 4 hours! He became trigger fodder , or was it grouper fodder :D I forgot.

Panamic Fang Blenny, it ranges from Mexico (Sea of Cortez) and all the way down to the Galapagos. Nope, this one is a algae type blenny, no real fangs. It has a top and lower razor blade that it uses to scrape rocks and bite humans with. Not a common fish at all. Our Baja divers were instructed to only catch a few. I don't think the other Baja outfits even bother with the thing.
