I am Randy. I was here before and took a break and now slowly getting back into the hobby.
Main 3 tanks are 2 180's and a 125. Also have a 75 and several other smaller tanks. The 180's will be plumbed together to share a sump and water volume. The 125 will probably end up being freshwater just to appease my life long love of swordtails and mollys.
The only one with water in it right now is the 125, its about half full for me to test all my pumps, powerheads and such. Have 100 or so pumps that have been stored so have to sort through them and find the ones that will work and the ones that don't.

So, not really new but saying hello again because I haven't been around for a long time.

welcome back, i know the feeling of pilling pumps, i have several bags full in my garage…. but you never know when they can come in handy again.

interesting idea to have two tanks share plumbing, volume and sump. would love to see a couple pics once you've set it up.

Welcome back, Randy! I'm originally from Jacksonville and was there last week over Thanksgiving. There are some really nice reef stores in the Jax area! We'd love to see pictures (of course). :)

I will try to take a few pics but not a lot to see right now. Other than the 125 they are mostly filled with misc parts other than the two 180's. One of those is in the living behind a wall of boxes, the other is standing on its end on my front porch (ran out of room in the small house I live in to get it inside until I get rearranged). Might start a sort of "pre build thread" to show what I am doing prior to actually setting them up. I have enough rock to fill both 180s completely full that I dried out and stored in anticipation of this. Gotta get them wet again, cook them through, let them return to live. In the meantime, start getting other equipment ready. Have thought about just setting one up as a FO just to get it started but everytime I consider that I change my mind. Don't want to redo it in 6 months when the rocks and everything else is ready. The entire timeframe I have from start to finish is right at a year. The plan is to have it - mostly - finished for Christmas 2014 with what I have now either online or traded for other stuff I need so that after that its maintenance instead of building.
