Got up to go to work. Came out of the shower and heard my Tom aqualifter making a small, irritating vibration on top of my CPR overflow. I moved it to stop the noise.

Came home to a flood. I knocked the return hose on the aqualifter outside of the tank. I had a slow but steady dosage of salt water on my basement floor for about 10-12 hours.

I am the smartest man alive...

Damage to your floor is done. How about your fish and corals? Any other damages? Sorry to hear that.

It was floating floor and a 29g sump was emptied. Luckily the fact that it was a slow leak means that most of the water was soaked up by my throw rug which looked like a big towel. It's obviously ruined, but hopefully the floor isn't too bad.

While admittedly not the smartest move on your part, I am sorry to admit FAR GREATER stupidity in my past. Fortunate for you, yours was not extremely costly.

Glad it wasn't worse for you.
