I have been working alot the past few days so i have really only had time to look at the tank a few minutes a day to feed and dose and then off to work.

I got home tonight and in the course of about 18 hours my tank developed a pretty think brown algea on the sand and some on the glass. The base rock i put in a few weeks ago has also turned brown but not like the sand has....

I did a water (25 gal) change about 7 days ago with RO and RC.

Params all checked out after i noticed the bottom...
everything at zero that should be.
Po4 at .25 (maybe, if not it was zero)
    Ca 400+
    Alk 3.5-3.8
    mg 1480

I have been feeding once a day to once every other day. I recently started feeding mysis 1 cube twice per week for the trigger. He is taking to the pellets now though so i might go once a week just to add some variety.

    here is a pic.

One thing that i did change is move on of my mjs to the bottom third of one end. There isnt a whole lot of circulation down there.

I am personally most suspicious of my flow and a clean up crew that is lacking - and is next on my list of improvements.

    Other ideas?

keep a eye on it i had something exactly like that on my sand bed after a few days it got stringy with bubbles at the end of the strings . long story short in my tank it was dinoflagelents i still have it. and now it is also on my rocks. at first i also thought it was cyano so i traded it and it didnt go away.

    good luck

Are you sure it's dinoflagelents? I didnt think it was, but if so you just answered my question from my new post!
