Not so subtle Hydor Evo turn on...

    Just replaced a no-name ebay look alike hydor wave pump. It ran ok it just had a harsh and abrupt start up to it. Running on a wave timer so it was a little annoying. I had a Hydor evo 550 at the opposite end of the tank and it was smooth and silent when it started up. So I just got a evo 1050 and this one is not much smoother than the cheap no name one. Is this because of the larger motor or more output, and is this typical?

    Should be quiet. I have two Evo 1400's and you don't hardly know when they start and stop.

    Sometimes they just need to have a little "break in" period, and eventually quiet down.
