I posted these pics in another thread and was told this is cyano. Today I tested my params'
    Nitrate 0
    Nitrite 0
    Ammonia 0
    Ph 8.0
    Phosphate 0-0.25 max
    Temp 79.8
    Sg 1.024

If i do have cyano wouldn't I be getting a phosphate reading?

Not necessarily. Is it a newer tank? First thing I would check is your RODI water.

Nope, you're getting a false negative reading. Cyano is so efficient at nabbing liberated phosphate that it gets it before you can get a test reading for it.

I was just blowing off some rocks and noticed one of the koralia evo's was running backwards...... Guessing the lack of flow helped spur it along.

My RODI water tests fine except I have no Tds meter. We did just have our water in the house tested and were at 51 for Tds before the RODI so I am assuming it is fine.

Should I still put some phosban in a hob filter and run it?

+1 on that. Yeah your phos is being used before you can test for it.

You would buy a TDS meter even though coming into the house it is only 51 then it goes into the RODI? I cannot imagine the RODI Is not raking it to almost zero.

It's better to know for sure than to just imagine. :p A TDS meter is relatively inexpensive.

If you don't take care of your RO like you are supposed to it can actually raise TDS. Get the meter, you'll need it.
