not sure what kind of wrasse

i was at my lfs today on my lunch break visiting my friend who i trust alot with fish. they had 2 of these wrasses in and he was taking 1 home but he wasnt sure of the name.they are similar to a peppermint wrasse but they have thin red stripes and a hint of yellow in the tail and no spot on their back. i took one home with me because my friend gave me a good deal and i have tanks for everything from a 20 gallon molly tank to a 300gal agressive tank so i figured i could give him a home and if i cant my gf thinger could.

i tried to get a pic of him but hes in the bag at the moment so the pic come out blurry or distorted.any ideas?

Just taking guesses with the "peppermint" cue. A picture, even blurry would help a lot.

 

pics to help in the id...after acclimation ...he is a sand wrasse of some sort if that helps

But I can't give a positive Id on the wrasse, but in the PSU tank we have a hogfish that looks exactly like that

ii dont think its the swiss guard. my lfs guy actually has 2 of them and he doesnt have the top fin with the black spot.

 

Do you know anything else about the fish?

 

nope ...he was $18 if that helps ...and he eats mysis very well lol

 

lol. I think I'll do a little research. I'll let you know if I come up with anything.
