    Hey Guys,

New piece has been in my tank about 2 weeks now. Over the past couple day's it's turning brown like pictured. I tried to gently blow it off w/ turkey baster but seems to take tissue with it I think. Not sure what to look up online yet with regards to this issue. It's currently sitting high in the tank under 4x54W T5's. I haven't noticed this problem with the few other acro pieces I have. Any thoughts?

    params:

    SG: 1.026
    Ammonia: 0
    Nitrite: 0
    Nitrate ~5ppm
    Phosphate: undetectable
    80 degrees
    pH: 8.18
    Cal: 410
    Alk 9.4

    Thanks

Actually, I'm not 100% sure. It was part of a mystery pack. Bright green/yellow acro of some sort.

If it has diatoms, it means that, that branch has died and algae is growing on it. Luna

Thanks for that Luna, I guess I'll sacrifice the lost branch, and continue to blow away anymore that might come along. I'm not really sure as to what caused the initial decay of the branch yet..

If your going to have corals, remember that you'll also have to test for Mag. Luna

Sorry I forgot to mention magnesium levels. Currently Mag is at 1350. Here's another picture of the coral when I first got it:

here's another image from coralreefecosystems who calls it a "Green Goddess". My google results show different results when looking Green Goddess Acro however. Either way I believe it to be of the species below. Just not quite so nice looking...
