So Ive recently just bought a new blue tang, and I love it.. Only problem is it literally keeps getting suck in between rocks, and ive left it there for a bit to see if it would get out.. Nope. I am constantly moving rocks around to get the blue tang out from most likely death, does anyone else find this is happening to them too? or am I just the lucky one? :-/

Blue tangs would usually do this as a retreat from danger.
Moving around the rocks would just stress him out more.
Leave him be. If they could find themselves in a tight crevice, 100% chance that they will get themselves out when they feel comfortable.
The absolute only way a fish could get stuck between rocks is if there is a rock slide due to a shaky aquascape.
look at it like a triggerfish. those buggers would pin themselves in between rocks and there's no way you would be able to get them out of their retreat without damaging them.
Your blue tang is absolutely fine. just try not to stress him out too much

oh okay thanks! Makes perfect sense, um another thing I notice is that it quickly swims up against rocks, repeatedly, as if its trying to scratch itself, is this normal behaviour?

Any white spots on him? Could be some ich...Hippos to get stressed easily and can get ich rather easily...if so put some garlic on his food and it will help...

Blue tangs, assuming u mean " Paracanthurus hepatus" are very prone to marine ich. This will explain why its making scratching movements and physically scratching itself on objects in the tank.
They WILL show signs of this disease upon addition to their new habitat and will soon go away with good water quality, proper foods and as little stress as possible.
They are a very finicky fish but a well loved member of ur tank.
My absolute best advice would be to feed him well and assure him very little stress as possible.

Yes its a paracanthurus hepatus, so when it does get itch, am I looking at having to remove it from the tank to treat it or am I leaving it till the itch goes away? Ive dealt with itch with my fresh water tank, but im assuming this is a whole different type of game?

It's actually not that much different with marine ich.
IME tho, removing a fish from the tank just stresses it out more.
I'd leave this fish in the tank, feed high quality foods enriched with vitamins and garlic.
Don't add any medications, just wait it out.

I'm with you on this one...just make sure you try and reduce his stress as much as you can...keeping a constant temp is key here. Garlic and selcon enriched foods have worked for me in the past.

Why types of food did you feed them? Like meaty foods or pellets? Or is there seaweed that I can get?
