I introduced a bubble-tipped anemone to my 120 gallon Anthias system about a month ago. Everything seemed to be going well and I'd estimate it has pretty much doubled in size in that time. It seems to have found itself a comfortable spot on a rock and hasn't really moved. You could set your clock by it emerging from the rock mid-morning and retreating behind the rock again at around midnight. But in the last few days, its shape doesn't seem as 'round' on the rock and symmetrical on the rock it is sitting and its bubble tips just don't seem as 'bubbly'. They used to look like pippets but the last few days, they've looked more like long thin balloons. If that description makes any sense...? Also, its mouth seems more visible than it used to but that may just down to its increase in size. The water parameters are fine and everything else seems OK. Am I just panicking over nothing or is something starting to go wrong?

Can you post a pic? What exactly are the water parameters? What kind of lighting? How old is the tank?

The lighting is an Aqua Medic Metal Halide set-up - don't know the wattage, I'm afraid. The tank has been running about three months. Nitrate, Nitrite, Phosphate and Ammonia were all zero. Ph is 8.2. Carbonate Hardness was 8. Just trying to upload a picture...

When you bought the lights where they brand new or used bulbs?

The bulbs had been replaced in April - though I only have the former owner's word on that... Everything else in the tank - Candy cane, grape corals and hammers seem to be really thriving...

I've uploaded a picture to my members' gallery but no idea how to get it to display in this thread...

Looks fine to me, but a three month old tank is not nearly mature enough for an anemone.
