    I'm confused, initially you said it was found a mile high in Colorado.

    The coral was found in Indo, but I didn't find the dark areas until I cut into it. It was buried inside a big chunk of rock covered in favites.

    I'd say the chances of finding live coral a mile above sea level was pretty unlikely, lol. Maybe I'm misreading the post? It looks like a gerontic muricid covered with coral overgrowth and stromatolites to me.
