i have a 6x54 48in nova extreme pro. i am kinda of playing around with some ideas in my head and wanted to get some feed back.

i am thinking i could upgrade it a bit. bulbs are the first step, but thats for another thread.

thinking about mounting some leds in it for moonlight, and to get some shimmer

wondering if some of the retrofit indiviual reflectors would work inside the fixture. to replace the "countored" reflector

going to check out replacing the fans with quieter computer fans. maybe even mounting some on the other in to "suck" air in.

    any thoughts????

When I modded my aqualight to 250w halides... I was thinking of the $$$ into it versus a new setup.

Also will the end result be worth the $$$ what you put into it.

We know upgrading takes money and time... just make sure its spent wisely.

That is the only advice I have to offer.

Good advice. My first light was an Nova Extreme Pro and when we factored in all of the costs to "upgrade", it was cheaper to upgrade to MH by obtaining a couple of used ballasts and buying new bulbs.
