most deffinately, you never know if a bulb is going to go and you will need a backup. current bulbs arent the best but their not the worst!

Probably the best you can buy IMO. I love the TEK. Once my wife gives me the go-ahead.....I am getting it.

I would do the 6x54W pro over the 8x54W regular in a heartbeat. Especially with a 72g. More than enough.

UVL bulbs rock. They really made the T5s comparable to MH in a lot of cases. Not every case, but in your situation.....yes.

Gman bulbs will last you a good year and a half maybe more depending on cooling, the ATIs last fairly long as well. I agree with the Tek, much better choice, even if you get less bulbs the SLR will make up for it.

    Good luck

i have the six bulb nova, and it has the individual reflectors...with your size tank, i believe theres nothing you couldnt keep with the 6 bulb, that you wouldnt be able to keep with the eight....IMO

Thanks for all the good info. I'll probably go with the 6x54. The only downside is that it doesn't have the lunar leds. The fixture I have now has them and I always like to look in the tank before going to bed. I guess I'll have to buy some separate ones.
