I have a Nova Extreme T5HO and I am looking into getting some corals for my seahorse tank. Does anyone have any feedback on this lighting fixture?

    Thanks! ;D

Corals would be simply polyps, mushrooms and maybe a giant clam.

It's not too bad, a decent entry fixture. The biggest down side to it is that it only has a "gull wing" reflector. You can keep many soft corals and several lps type.

After inspecting the fixture I realized that both fans and the Lunar lights are dead... What would a good replacement be?

For softies such as you mentioned, any decent, "one reflector per bulb" T5 fixture should suffice. This is sometimes referred to as "individual reflector" setups. Some pricier, higher quality names are the Aquactinics TX5 (that's 48" and won't fit over a 55G tank--you didn't mention what tank you have), the TEK light, the Geisemann fixture too. PharmrJohn and Dr. Fragenstein have T5s and love them. Pick their brains. They're both very helpful and happy to field any questions you might have.

Check out Aquacave.com (a 3Reef sponsor). I bought my Aquactinics TX5 from them. Look for individual reflectors and fans if possible. You'll hear it said again and again, don't look to go cheap on lights or skimmers. You'll only pay more when you buy what you should have bought in the first place.

    Good luck!! :)

Will I need a chiller for a light like this?

I don't think so. Halides are usually the only lighting that require a chiller, unless you have a closed-top aquarium and a pretty hot ambient.
