So today was at the LFS, just for a look around, i've been keeping my eye open for a cleaner shrimp or similar. I noticed his coral tank was gone ... wierd. Then I saw him dragging a big plastic tub out from behind the counter and he said "all these guys are going for $5". His frag tank blew a seam and he wanted to get rid of his stock ya see.
So i bought this guy ... totally on the spur of the moment, the colour, the tenticles, the size, i loved it.

I belive its a Fungia disc. I have read they are fairly easy to keep. Am I going to be okay?

So far the tank is 3 months old, and i have 2 small zoa colonies, and 2 small mushrooms.

I super glued him to this rock, and the tenticles came out after about 20 mins in my tank.

I do 40% water changes every 5 days, no skimmer, and no other chemicals added to the tank. The other corals have thrived so far, will this guy do okay?

Looks ok...I'm sure with a little time getting used to the tank it'll grow more full....what type of lights do you have?

You shouldnt have superglued it to the rock. Not IMO anyway. . . They inflate to move around and their flesh is fragile. It should have been placed directly on the sand.

yeah thats something i've just read about. Might try and pull it off carefully and dump him on the sand. Its really only held on by a tiny bit, the point at the very base only.

Yeah it should be fine to pry it off the rock, it might damage it a little but it should recover if your water quality is good. It looks a little brown as well, could probably use more light than what it was under at the store.

    Nice score for $5 though!

Yup on the sand, medium current and feed weekly. I got one not too long ago and have regretted not getting another. Awesome coral to have.

    Great coloring on yours. Enjoy.

I think a 40% water change a week is way to much
