Now this is weird

I dont know how many times we went to "just look" and ended up with at least a $10 frag. If there was a cover charge I wouldnt go anywhere near that place. Sometimes you have to take the good (buyers) and the bad (lookers). It is a tough time and mabey instead of having his rare fish in stock he should order them for serious buyers that could lower his overhead. Is it losing a possible buyer for a buck worth it? I think not!

 

I find it quite amusing its one way to kill your customer base however its also one way to create a hell of alot of exposure( short term may it be)

I dont know about you but when I originaly set up my tank I was at my LFS 3 nights a week min looking for goodies for my tank.
Some times I would not buy thats for sure but as every one here knows when comes the time to drop the cash it drops in bundles and I think that should be enought to cover our brousing fee!!!

 

Exactly! I see it in my local "mall based" store, Mom and Dad parading one, two, or three kids into the store acting as if it's SeaWorld! The Air conditioning gets sucked out every time the door gets opened, fish get stressed by the touchie-feely people who insist on tapping on the glass. Hell yeah, CHARGE 'EM! If you buy something (or do multiple visits to inspect something you intend to buy) you get those entry fees refunded at the time of purchase. Or- even More insane- ( ;D ) a visitor's pass with a small down payment to hold an item.

The other area store, were you have to know it's there just to find it, has no such problem. People who wander into that store are there to squander their entire paycheck, not to sightsee.

Ever consider what THE ELECTRIC BILL must be in a LFS?
Make the TOURISTS pay!!!! Heck yeah... Cheaper corals for all!!!
