nudibranch info

    i have just aquired a purple nudi w/ a yellow palm tree looking thing on its back. i'm wondering what to feed this beautiful snail and if it is compatable with my reef tank . any info would be would be great. also would like to say hello to all my fellow reefers as it has been a while .....hope all is doing well!

    a lot of nudi's eat one thing and only one thing. might be a type of algae, might be a type of zoa. if you have it, it will eat all of it until it starves. if you don't have what it eats, it will simply starve.

    finding out what something eats before you acquire it is the way to go.



    We'll need a pic, there's too may types of nudi's out there with brilliant colors. good luck and I hope it eats something you can provide.

    It's very likely that it eats something that looks like it; the colors and shapes are evolved to camouflage them against their food source in most cases.

    Can you put up a picture? It sounds like a species I've seen available before that only eats live sponges.
