If you look at the original picture, the side flaps are folded up.

Well he's quarentined off, while I waited for an answer. I have noticed quite a few of my prized zoas missing lately though, so I suspect inwall is right.

If you have some forceps, you can GENTLY pull the flaps aside and then we'll know for sure.

Tweezers work? Or something else I might have around the house?

Tweezers would be fine. If you have latex gloves, you can use your fingers. I just don't want you to use your fingers if I'm correct due to the palytoxin.

It escaped! I don't know how the thing got through a hole literally smaller than a "0" on the screen but it did. I shall have to catch him again.:furious3:

Thanks all for the help so far, when I catch him, well open em up.

That would be good enough for me- if in doubt, take it out.

Not to be mean or cruel, but the fact is that of the thousands of species of sea slugs, only a small handful are considered safe for aquaria; it's extremely rare for a safe one to come in as a hitchhiker.

Of the ones that don't actively feed on corals, inverts, etc., many still have very specialized diets and won't survive in captivity, and most can release toxins when stressed, disturbed, or dying. Not a risk I would take with my pets over an unknown hitchhiker.

    Just my two cents. :)
