Nuisance Vine of some kind

i wish i had taken pictures, most of this vine is gone, and the rocks look cleaner than they have in a long time.
last night i seen the one urchin headed for a rock inside the rocks that had the vine all over it ( i couldn't reach the vine there to pull it) this morning the rock is clean looking and the urchin has some vine pieces stuck on his back.

 

the vine is still there in small spots, nothing like it was ...but it keeps coming back from in between the rocks where the urchin can't reach. the urchin keeps in under control.

oh also i found purple pincushion urchins eat linka's so if you have a blue linka...dont add that urchin
