    Sorry to say have been neglecting my tank and bubble algae moved in well one or two rocks have nothing living on then except bubble algae so what is the proper way to to kill this lovely stuff and return it to my tank. thanks in advance.:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

    Pull each rock out and remove what you can and replace.

    Yes remove the rocks.Fill a small tub or bucket with tank water.(It might be a good idea to do this while performing a WC.)Remove the bubbles as carefully as possible and avoid breaking them if you can as they release spores when popped.A very soft toothbrush works well.Then rinse them in your bucket(to remove any spores) then replace the rock back into the tank.;)

    What would happen if i took the rock and dipped it in fresh water for a hour or two would this kill the spores the rock is not that big the amount of live rock that i would be killing is small or is the problem all the dead on it when it goes back in?:confused::confused::confused:

    IF YOU DON'T NEED THE ROCK FOR YOUR BIO FILTER THEN I WOULD DEFINITELY RINSE IT WITH fw TO ENSURE THE SPORES DO NOT MAKE IT INTO THE TANK.Sorry for the caps.;)

    No small rock 125 gal 150 lbs rock 100 lbs sand i would think no need only hand full of fish. Thanks to all
