    Hey guys,
I'm planning on setting up a couple Hydor Power heads to replace some of the crappy Ebay ones I have now. I have a new reefkeep lite plus, and I want to use the wavemaker setup.

My question is it better go to say two 1050, or go with maybe two 750 and add two 550s or 4 750s?

I am not sure if the hydors are made to start stop like that in a wave maker fashion. I would rather go with some mp40 or tunze for those rougher start stop action.

The new Hydor Evolution pumps are,

Also this is for a 55 Gallon. I also cannot justify spending the 438 for a MP40 or the same inflated price for the tunzes

yes, but not at 235 per pump, so 460 for two add 80 for the wavemaker....

Not trying to persuade you just saying they they are awesome pumps. I thought the same thing until I switched. I think I got my 2 6055 used for like 100

Yes I know, but I'm looking for someone with experience with the Hydor pumps, the budget doesn't allow right now for the Tunze or the MP10/40

How is your current setup? Just look at it this way , save the money and get the better unit later than to buy now and end up selling and taking a lost don't you think?

this is then, would you get the MP10 or the Tunze?
Also would you go wireless or wired with the Mp10, and with the Tunze wouldnt you want to go controllable?

I would go with the mp10wes since and the foot print is smaller. I have the tunze 6055x2, 6100.10, 6105 in my old 150 now that I started my new 210 I have since moved to the mp40 x1 and mp60 x1 and a few inline loops and I love the new setup. I mean the tunze were great but it kind of took up some real estate in my 150. And I do have a apex controller that controlled both setups and I wouldn't trade it.
