NW-150 octopus

Ya idk if this thing is acting right, I first hooked it up and the collection cup fill up with water. Now im new to this and still learning but I thought it was just suppost to be foam in there. If anyone know whats going on let me know, heres a pic of it. Idk if the water level is to high, if so ill just make some stilts for it

 

I'm new too, but i'm pretty sure you have to adjust the waterflow, probably with a valve(ball valve). Also, I am currently looking for a protein skimmer myself, can you tell me how good your octopus turns out.

 

I have the NW150. You have the water level way to high. Think of that big black bar with the sponge on it as the return. It has to be above the water level. Try increaseing the height of the return to the max. You should then monitor the amount of foam and slowly make adjustments to get the type of foam you are looking for.

 

lol ya ima have to make stilts for it then to bring it to about 8 inchs, its about 12 inchs submersed since the directions say the best is at the bottom of the first cone which doesnt look liek it is since the skimmier cup gets flooded with a whole lot of water.

 

Directions??????????? what Directions? I never got any directions and you are the first person I have heard of that has gotten any directions. lol well yea make some stilts thats your best bet. Thats what I did

 

lol ya the directions sucked, it just showed a pic of it and said best water level with a squiggle line goign across it. ima actually cut part of my wall in my sump so the water isnt so high tomorrow and see what that does

 

Ok guys I cut the sump up a little bit for the skimmer and now shes running like a charm so Im very happy, if friggin photobucket would work I would post some new pics for you guys to look at. Im so close and excited wanna start putting a CUC in the tank so bad
