I have a korilia nano on my 10g, and I kind of wish I went bigger, so you are definitely going to need more. Also I don't think your really going to need that heater except if you have your apartment set at absolute zero(joke but my heater rarely kicks on unless I fall asleep with my windows open in my room). I have the jbj 24 gallon, the PC lighting really puts out alot of heat. At one point in the summer I had to make a DIY chiller because the temp was like 87 even though the house temp was like 70. So my advice get use to using the legs to prop the hood open.

    Auto Top Off DIY Kit

I got that DIY ATO kit. It was easy to build and seems to work great. If you are on a budget, it is a good one.

I didnt try the dead shrimp trick, I will try that tonight maybe...

Good luck on the tank build! I just installed an RO/DI system. If it performs badly, consider a booster pump to up your input water pressure to (~80-100PSI) you can get them for like 75 bucks online... or like 200 at home depot.. yikes! I put the booster on mine and production went up about 1000% while waste water stayed the same.
