    so my ammonia is up to 1.5 closer to 2 i have left my carbon in the media basket should i take it out or will it not matter also i picked up a koralia nano and magnesium test kit all parameters are around as followed

    temp 77
    sg 1.025
    ph 8.o still buffing
    nitrates not checked
    nitrites not checked
    ammonia 1.5 to 2
    cal 480
    mag 1300
    dkh 12
    phos around 1 i think

    some of those are rounded cause really only ones i checked since the first time is ph cause im trying to raise it and my ammonia

    tank has really cleared up will post pics after cycle or maybe if im bored before then lol :)

    I waited until my cycle was complete and live stock present before I started running. I really didnt see the need for it until then. there are others in here with more exp. that may see it differently. maybe they will chime in. Nice looking tank :)

    Yeah carbon is more of a polisher, takes unwanted stuff out of the water to make it clear. Dont have to have it during a cycle.
    I did run some in mine shortly during my cycle because I made a big nasty sandy mess when i put my sand in. so i ran some to help get the sand cloud down.

    BTW this thread made me research these cubes.. very interesting.
