Well I bought my first biocube after downgrading from my 75g Which I had to take down due to moving.

I would like information from anyone who has one, about Modifications that they have done, and any advice or tips you can give me along with that. Pictures would be a HUGE help since sometimes i get confused on what you guys are telling me lol.

Im not using the stock lighting, I bought a Sunpod 150w HQI for it,

It was a used tank, and im not sure if the person i got it from gave me everything that came with it.

It came with some wet/dry filters i belive? (their clear and blue filters with egg crate in them, which looks like he just had them sitting in the back 2nd chamber?) Not sure Ive never used them before Ive only Used a refuge, which is what Id like to do with this. Help? Ideas?

Basically want to know, How you guys set up your chambers, and what goes in which one? Protein skimmer? Or no protein skimmer? It came with one, but it looks pretty uhmm... bad haha so If Im gonna be using one, Im gonna need to buy a new one!

So pelase! if anyones got one, and has did modifications on it, Send me some pictures! and Give me some advice so I can get this show on the road :) :) :) !!!!

Oh and since I am going to be using different lighting, Which means no top, Is there a way I could put a screen over the back chambers to keep fish and other creatures out of there???

You might wanna hit up Coraline or JBJ since they have similar setups.

Great little tank! I have a few friends with these. One of them has a well documented "build/show off" thread on another forum. I could email you the link since I am not sure I can share it on here. :) LMK He has done stuff like removed the black rim, made a mesh top that he had to bend to the right shape, I think now he plans to make one that has the frame made from acrylic. Very beautiful scape as well. That little nano skimmer that Reef Octopus makes fits perfect inside the back part( not sure what the model is called but it is only like $40 or really cheap like that. A different friend has that and loves it) PM or whatever if you'd like that link :)

Have not bought any power heads yet, Its still an empty tank. Im not planning on doing anything with it untill I get all of my stuff together. So if you have a good make for powerheads let me know! As for the make of the bulb, havent pulled it out yet, I believe it was whatever came with the sunpod orginally, the light was used also and the guy told me he hasnt switched out the bulb since he got it, which is why i need to buy a new bulb!

I don't have the Biocube but I have the JBJ 29 cube. I have (2)Koralia Nano 425gph powerheads and they seem to do a good job. I would check around this and other forums for the Biocube 29 builds and see what others are doing. It will give a good idea of what will/won't work. That's where I started. For filtration and your "fish guard", check out Aquarium Filtration Upgrades & Supplies ...they make some pretty nice stuff. Best of luck!
