    Angie,

Many will tell you that these skimmers are not very good. The standard pump has very low air pressure coming out of it so you will not have very many bubbles. (they do take about a week to break in though)
I went to me LFS and purchased a Whisper air pump for 100g tanks for about $15.00 dollars and I was cleaning out my collection cup every day with very dark crap! Everyday!
    Just a tip.

Don't worry about going the skimmer right now, if you need to go to work go. Nothing terrible will happen between now and the time you come home. I ran a non-functioning skimmer for about 5 months with no serious ill effects.

Wonderful i guess i will let it sit and see if it does anything in the next week and hope something happens. I don't see any bubbles at all so i guess i will wait!
    Thanks
