I recently (a couple of weeks ago) acquired a tiny clown to go with my lone clown (whose friend carpet surfed).

The new little guy all of a sudden is changing color. His white stripes are still sparkling white, but his orange looks like he was dragged through soot. I have a couple of bad photos I'll attach so you can see what I mean.

What's up with the color change??

I believe the older and more matured they get, the darker they become... correct me if im wrong.. Then again, i believe that an anemone could be stinging it!

Someone with more knowledge will confirm this for you...

    Best of luck

    Hmmm...

The larger female clown is a lovely rich orange. The little guy's orange is paler and now is all splotchy with black... I just don't remember her going through any color change. She's always been the same.

My pair have been blackening too. Seems like it's starting along their back and working down. Makes for deeper colors and I attribute it to good food.

My pair started with orange face (black and white bodies). As the dominance set in the males face turned black and the female still has a bright orange face. It is possible that as she matures it too will change but I think it is going to stay black.
