I'm sorry about the clown, too. :( We used egg crate to fill the gap on our canopy. I just cut a section with pliers to fit and wedged it in. We had lost 2 fish to jumping in our pre-canopy days - I hate that.

I'm planning on cutting out a screen material and attaching it with strip magnets top (to the hood) & bottom (to rim of the tank) so it can be removed for maintenance and still allows airflow within the canopy (plastic sheeting wont allow ventilation).

man i was hoping he would pull through :( sry to hear he didnt.
What makes fish want to jump out of a tank anyways? I heard having decidable levels of ammonia can make a fish do that but i dont think this is the case for you. uhg. i once had a gold fish tank and i couldnt find one of my fish in the tank and then i looked down and he was at my feet :( all dried up.

Thanks all, I do know that in the tank he was the timid one. The female didn’t hang out in her previous spot today which was a small cave. She moved and is now huddled up against a sarcophytum, I expect this will become her new host. I am a bit curious to see where she will sleep tonight. It’s amazing the personalities these little guys have.

The oddest thing I ever saw was my coral beauty playing with a piece of poo. It would swim up to it grab it spit it out circle around and grab it again from a different angle and spit it out again. It did this about 8 or 9 times before the poo finally broke up!!!

Hehe, my clowns will do that with my flame angel's poo.

I had an issue with young male clowns jumping out of my tank due to an aggressive female. After losing two, we made a lip out of acrylic to go around the inner edge of the tank. Male number three has made it for almost a year now.
