My black and white are quite active. They seem to really like the flow in the front of my tank-do you have a good amount of flow in the front part of your tank? If not, that may help.....

My clowns venture around the tank a l ittle but the majority of the time they are in the back top right behind the hob DIY refuge. I have an OC and a BW paired up.

Like coralline said, clowns are not good open water swimmers, if you look at the way they swim compared to must fish it's very clumsy, and seems like takes a lot of effort.. The ones in our 120 for the most part stay on there corner, but do venture out from time to time. Clowns in the 90 either stay in there frogspawn or right around it, but do venture around a lot.

Clowns find a comfortable spot and stake claim, that's their area and no one else is welcomed. Took mine a week to leave out new open brain alone that I sat 8" under the frogspawn in the sand bed.... Was to close to there space. Moved it over a few inches now its fine lol

Have you considered rearranging your rockwork some? If you put something in their spot, they might look for another place to call home. Clowns in anemones can be entertaining too as they pop out of it at you and reverse back into their home, if you have a tank that'll keep an anemone. But yeah, clowns usually aren't big swimmers...

    Huh???:loco:
Clownfish use anemone's for protection. They reward the anemone by driving off predators and helping clean and feed it.Some Anemone's have a more potent sting then others and can kill a clownfish just as easily as any other fish in some cases. In the wild clowns are familiar with the native species and will choose the one that is "right" for it. This varies by species.

There's an MP10 so plenty of flow. I think I might just be done with clowns. Not very entertaining fish compared to wrasses or dwarf angels.

I would never refer to a Clownfish as clumsy.Whimsical maybe but never clumsy.Clownfish have a certain style of swimming that varies depending on the situation. While it may seem that they are exerting alot they are actually great/ efficient swimmers.;)
