I am happy to announce that my two ocellarises have now taken to my bubble anemone, big enough for two!

Not only that, but they are both tank raised clowns. So for anyone saying that tank raised clowns will not take to an anemone or that it will be difficult, not true.

I hardly see true or false perc's take to anemones, atleast in captivity of course. Maroons tend to be much more common to take to anything, as well as clarki's, skunks, tomato's and cinnamons. I've noticed that the little guys seem to respect the anemone and does not mistreat it like other clowns I have witnessed do. They seem to be gentlier in carresing the anemone and once in a while they will go nuts and dash in the anemone and scare it a little or being a little to rough with it. Anyone ever experience the same?

I have a pair of tank raised oscellaris that nested in a BTA. The female took about 2 months to take to the anemone but the male took to it immediately after I put him in the tank. Go figure.

The neat thing now is that they are both sharing it with no problems at all. I hope they pair up.

Chances are, they already have. :) Is one clown significantly smaller than the other?

If they are both in the same anemone, then yes they will pair up. It will take some time to sort out who's going to be the beach, but it will get done.

Great! I was also very happy when my two clowns made the move from the top of the tank to the BTA. Thats always a great thing.

    Karma for the happy couple.

Thanks Bruce! Well, today I was looking at the little guys and I saw them kiss once. They also seem to playfully nip at their tail and then cuddle with the anemone as sort of playing around romantically, pretty neat. I'm pretty sure they are already a pair. I already had them for about 1.5 months before the host anemone and they were best buds, ocassionally fighting, but would resolve their issues fast. And yes Bruce! Before I got the anemone, they would hang out at the top during the night hours and would cruise the tank during the day, but staying in the open. Now they are constantly with the huge BTA. I also see them tucking food at the anemones mouth.

One first took to the anemone, then the other one joined in after the first one "let him in". Now they seem to be constantly playing with the anemone, with one standing guard most of the time, I'm guessing he will be the male. They still dont know how to exactly guard the anemone or maybe they just fear my coral banded shrimp, what an ass.

Amcarrig, one is a wee tad bigger than the other one.

I will try and get some shots of them ASAP.
