Anyone have octodes? Is it safe for display reef tank? Where can I get some? Inland Aquatics is propagating some, but won't have any for sale for atleast 6 months.

You might need to periodically dose a LITTLE amount of Iodine and Iron to keep it. It's a little more picky like most Rhodophytes. It's very reef safe. It's one of the prettier macroalgaes IMO.

PS...you might want to ask John from Reef Cleaners if he ever sees it.

    BTW....it's spelled Ochtodes

There is a guy who is in one of the two Indianapolis reefing clubs. His name is Brian. He sometimes sells it. (I don't know where in Indiana you're at)

hard to get item, and the aquaculture places usually demand a pretty penny and a waiting list. try the forum classifieds...(oh yeah...you are here already...) From what I hear it grows pretty fast, so maybe you can talk someone out of a frag of it.

i knew a few people that had it, but after it started to dominate their display (reefs though not macro tanks), they got rid of it. try "pledosophy", he often lurks around seahorse.org

Why don't you ask for Morgan and explain you have a nano tank so you want very little and will grow it out yourself.
