Hello all...1st post here. 1 week since I installed Octo BH300F(which was an upgrade from Seaclone100). THis thing is much louder than the seaclone. I have both silencers on with the covers in place. THe pumps don't appear to be rubbing the walls...any suggestions??

Also, the 1st day it was bubbling and foaming like crazy..since then....nothing. No bubbles at all in the far right chamber(which may be a good thing). No foam at all in the cup...the level in the middle chamber appears to have shortened since the the 1st day...Am I still "breaking it in"??

I tried the helpful suggestins without much resolve. The noise is definitely coming out of the first pump. I switched the washer from the middle chamber to the first chamber(helped a little)..should there be a washer on both sides of the chamber that connect the first pump?

Also...going on 2 weeks and still no foam..just a 1/4" of dark water everyday. If I raise the collection cup, I don't get anything. Does the height of the strainer inside the tank matter??

I just got this skimmer as well.

This is how I set it up,

First of all if you got it in a box and you got 2 air hoses you only use one. The other is there for a replacement, from what I have gathered one pump makes bubbles while other keeps the water moving. I have the silencer on the pump in the intake chamber. Both pump wires go into the slotted place on that side as well.

You fill the skimmer about half way up, put your mouth on the Air drain off valve and when you start the skimmer you suck untill no air comes out the top and shut it off fast. You skimmer is now done.

Mine is completely quite I honestly think it is the most silent thing I have on my tank.

Hope this helps Mine was loud for about 2 minutes then nothing since.

Beamerhack....you only use 1 air hose?? Mine came with 2 hoses and 2 silencers..I assumed this was for both pumps. Are you getting good foam with your set-up??

Yeah I know mine came with 2 as well. But if you look at the picture they gave you for the setup they only show one being used. That is the reason I only used 1 not sure if both are spose to be used. I get good foam and already am pulling skimm after about 24 hours.
