    i must've read atleast 100 pages from the I-tech thread on reef central. It performs the same as a $1000 skimmer which is amazing for the price.

    Yea but the Octopus Extreme 200 is suppose to be the best BANG for tyhe buck being $319.20 shipped and comming with the purple pinwheel. Its rated at 230 gallons on an average bioload, Thats all im willing to pay for a skimmer... Thx guys.. I still have to buy an RO/DI system cuz ive been using TAP for almost two years. Im thinking it would be a better idea to buy the RO/DI before i buy my skimmer. I have a BAK-PAK 2 on my 75 now with a mesh wheel and airpump mod and it pulls out a full cup of nasty dark smelly skimmate every two days. The only problem is the bubbles from the outflow but i can deal with it for now.

    Yes, they are made by coralvue. Under the "Reef Octopus" listing at the top. Although you can find other skimmers listed as an "Octopus". Mostly cheap imitation knock-offs trying to make a buck off the name.
