Ok, these are the 2 skimmers I am down to for my 90g w/ 38g sump. Both are big enough, but what is the better skimmer?
The Octopus NW 200 is $225 shipped.
The ASM G2 is $259.00 shipped.

Let me know what everyone thinks!

    Thanks!!

(Also at $259 for the ASM why not just got for the Octopus Extreem 200 for $289 right?) lol ;D

i have the nw-150, and it is a beast. it will not even skim wet for me if i try. the skimmate is so thick you could spoon it out of the collection cup. the way this thing skims i feel like i got a deal for its 180$ price tag. its almost and identical skimmer as the PM red line, but 100$ cheaper.

ive never used the asm, but from just looking at them side by side. the octo seem better made, higher grade/thicker acrylic.

. ive seen the octo nw 150 running a 250 gallon acan only frag tank.

i have mine on a 60 gal acro tank, and a decent bioload of 2 clowns, sixline, hippo tang,& psyc. mandarin.

this is my opinion so im sure some one will chime in on the asm skimmers.

I have the NW 200 and it is great also. I got a full cup out of it the first week then about a cup every three weeks now. And yes I cant get wet skimmate either. My tank has really taken off with this addition.

I hav the nw 120 on a 55 and it is working great. I really like this skimmer but it does have a sweet spot with reguards to the water level in the sump.

I have the Octopus NW-110 and am very pleased! It takes up much less room in my sump and is very easy to clean - it also runs quietly. It did take a little adjusting to get the water level right, and the instructions are terrible (more like nonexistent). Fortunately, it was easy to set up thanks to the really nice picture on Aqua Cave! It only took a few days before it was producing that lovely greenish-brownish nasty smelling stuff!

I was going to get the NW 150, but I think I am going to get the NW 200 so it will more than double my gallon load.
