I've decided to go with the octopus BH 300. Anyway, does anybody know some mods for it?

Very good choice. I know we have some Coralife fans here, but I feel the Octo's are on a totally different level.
There is a mesh mod floating around somewhere, but not really any mods for the octopus's. Not really needed with those skimmer's ;)

I agree with pack. I'm not sure I would try to mod it either. The only reason I don't like to mod hob skimmers is chance of overflow. (floods scare me)

So then the octo is alot better? Due to availability, i'll probably have to get the coralife, anyway, is this worth it? Note the fact that it is used and it needs some parts.

That skimmer would not even come close to being adequate for your set-up. Just my 2 cents

I know what you are trying for here, but dude, just save up and get a quality skimmer. When you see the skimmer ratings, that is for VERY lightly stocked tanks. The coralife you posted a link to would be better suited on a 10 gallon nano tank. You keep triggers, which are messy, messy eater's. A skimmer is not something you will be able to skimp on here.

You will have to change the o-ring going to the collection cup, take the old and go to hardware store and get one thats a little fatter.Mine leaked when I started mine up and a few others have had this problem also.Cheap fix and working fine now.Hob for now till I get my sump going and seems to be doing great for the money.
