    Hello everyone,

As you can see, I am a new member to the forum, but it is no stranger to me. I loved the advice and the many threads that i couldn't help but join the community. Here is my current dilemma:

I have a single Ocellaris clown, due to the mysterious loss of its partner, residing in my 40 gallon breeder. The tank has been running for over a year now and all parameters are in check. The odd thing is that this clown will only reaside at the top of the tank day and night, NEVER seems to pass below the mid section of the tank. Every night I tend to find him in a differnt corner at the top of the tank. I do have about 40 lbs or so of live rock, and plenny of caves and arches that, I would think, he could at least call home for the time being. Another problem with this clown is that it is very hard to feed. I am currently feeding him Nutrafin max. It doesnt chase any food around the tank. I have to find him and feed him piece by piece by dropping it infront of him and waiting for him finish before dropping the next, otherwise he wont pay any attention. If i dont do this tedius task, he just wont eat.

Im sry for the long post, if anyone has any advice/insight i would greatly appreciate it!

That was my first thought, disease, due to the mysterious loss of its partner a year back and currently he seems to be in good shape... nothing noticeable at the least... I have overlooked common symtoms for clowns, but nothing seems to match.. It bothers me

    TY for the quick responses!

Maybe aiming the 1700 up a little higher or you saying like a trickle from a hang on filter?

yea any thing that turns the water with air.

also do you have a ground probe? they are cheap and will remove one more possible problem.
