What happens if you put in to much Ca and get your levels up to around 555+ ?

    Yes I did something stupid.
Yes I know what it was.
No I won't do it again.

I'm doing water changes now to bring it back down to civilized levels (400-450).

I'm fully expecting my fish to grow exoskeletons right now its so calcium rich in there ;-)

If your Alk is still in range I wouldn't worry about it. There isn't really a max Cal. The problem is that your Alk will probably go down.

I am new to this chemistry so don't take my word for it. I wouldn't bother doing water changes until someone else pipes in and says you should.

I think you are on the right track.
Water change is the quick fix or if you alk is ok like fishy said, it will go down on it's own.

I've overdosed calcium before too. Much worse than you. Got up to 700! My alk went down to 2. No losses though. I did a water change a few days later.
