odd ?

so this is kinda weird i was trying to remove my large brittle star (not friendly) and accidentally took one of his legs off the weird part of this is the leg well its alive ,(and yes im sober) this leg is cruising my tank , so what am i missing here ?????

lmao. That's creepy but sounds hilarious. Yes, sea stars can lose a limb to protect themselves from predators; it will grow back. As for the lonely leg, well...I'm not sure how long it will stay alive for. I don't think a new star can form from it.

Its the lizard thing, he can grow a new one back, but the tragically severed arm can not grow a new starfish, thank god. Boy he must have put up a fight, what color was is it.

 

Well if you were looking to remove the star I would remove the leg before it polutes the tank.

 

I agree with 2. You best bait him and get the rest of him out before you have another creepy leg to your collection.
