    from what I have heard the mh ballasts tend to fail after a year but icecap ballasts are direct plug in replacements. buy the light and replace the ballast with an icecap. the improvement of light from that is amazing. you will then have a good mh light and backup ballast and its still cheaper than the "good" lighting brands out there.

    Fans are LACKING. The odyessa fixture I had experience with got crazy hot... only had one fan running at 6.something volts. I replaced it with a 9 volt transformer, and added another fan.
    Dropped temps significantly in fixture, which I'm sure helped PAR values as well. (Before, friend would touch fixture and get a BURN, now it was slightly warm to the touch)
